The Spill

ApeWisdom logged the 250 reading at 6:06 a.m. ET on Nov. 5. It is an attention count, not a disclosed trade, so it measures how loud the forum got about one stock and says nothing about who bought, sold or filed.

Attention spike

The label means the mention count moved sharply inside one day on one subreddit; it carries no share count, no dollar figure and no trade date, because there is no trade behind it.

What the tracker shows

Three numbers moved. Mentions of MU on r/wallstreetbets went from 51 to 250 over the rolling 24 hours ending at 6:06 a.m. ET, a 4.9x increase. The stock's rank on the tracker went from No. 3 to No. 1, and the mentions carried 1,661 upvotes.

That is the whole dataset. ApeWisdom does not publish a sentiment score, a count of unique accounts or a price in this reading.

The Other Side

The obvious take is that 250 mentions means the forum found something. The base was 51, not four, so the 4.9x ratio isn't inflated by a tiny starting count, but Micron was already No. 3 a day earlier. This is a stock that was on the radar getting louder, not a new arrival, and the extra 199 mentions is the kind of volume a few busy threads can generate on their own.

Rank is relative. No. 1 means MU drew more mentions than any other ticker in that window, which depends as much on what every other stock did as on Micron, and the tracker doesn't say whether the 250 were arguing for the stock or against it.

What it can't tell you

  • How many people were talking. ApeWisdom counts mentions, not unique accounts. The 250 could be 250 users or a handful posting and commenting repeatedly.
  • Whether anyone traded. Mentions are not trades, unique investors or measured sentiment. A mention tracker reads public Reddit activity over a rolling 24 hours; it has no view of brokerage accounts or SEC filings.
  • Why the count rose. The tracker records the number, not the reason. The reading doesn't name an earnings date, a headline or a thread that set it off.

What to watch

The same tracker at the same hour on Nov. 6: whether the count holds above 51 or falls back to it, and whether MU keeps the No. 1 slot once the other tickers' windows roll over.

Any insider filing (Form 4) from Micron on the SEC's site. That would be a reported trade with a date and a share count, which is a different thing from a mention.
