The Spill
Amazon (AMZN) drew 111 mentions on r/wallstreetbets, a Reddit forum for stock talk, in the 24 hours ending 4:42 p.m. ET on Oct. 29. That is up from 17 a day earlier, a 6.5x jump in chatter, and chatter is the whole story: there is no filing, no trade and no insider here.
Lag Clock
Nothing here moves on a two-business-day clock. The tracker refreshes continuously, so the numbers above describe one snapshot and will drift.
Signal Check
The label means people on one forum typed this ticker more often than they did yesterday; it does not mean anyone bought, sold or knows something.
What the tracker shows
| Measure | Now (Oct. 29, 2026, 4:42 p.m. ET) | 24 hours earlier |
|---|---|---|
| Mentions on r/wallstreetbets | 111 | 17 |
| Rank on the board | No. 6 | No. 20 |
| Upvotes on those posts | 257 | Not stated |
| Change in mentions | 6.53x | — |
A mention is a post or comment that names the ticker. Upvotes are readers clicking approval on those posts. Neither one is a share changing hands.
The Other Side
A 6.5x jump looks like a crowd piling in. Then you look at the base: 17 mentions is a small number, and small numbers make ratios look dramatic. Going from 17 to 111 is 94 extra posts in a forum where one thread can produce that on its own.
Rank is relative, too. Moving from No. 20 to No. 6 depends on what every other ticker on the board did in the same window, and the tracker does not say whether others fell quiet.
Amazon was also already on the list at No. 20 a day earlier. This is a stock that was being talked about becoming a stock that is being talked about more, which is a weaker story than a name appearing from nowhere.
What it can't tell you
- Mentions are not trades, unique investors or measured sentiment. 111 mentions could be 111 people or a handful of loud ones, and the tracker does not say whether the posts were positive or negative.
- ApeWisdom aggregates public Reddit posts, and its window is a rolling 24 hours. The snapshot you read here is already out of date.
- Nothing in the tracker says why the count rose. No earnings date, news item or filing is given, so we are not guessing at one.
What to watch
- The same tracker at the same time on Oct. 30. If mentions fall back toward 17, this was a one-day bump. If they hold near 111, the attention has legs, which is still not a reason to do anything.
- Any insider filing (Form 4) from Amazon officers or directors that hits SEC EDGAR in the coming days. That would be a real document with a real date; forum chatter is neither.
